After your initial Consultation and Laser Patch Test (required 1 week before your 1st laser treatment), The number of sessions depends on factors like tattoo size, colors, ink depth, and your skin type. On average, it takes between 6 to 12 sessions spaced 6-8 weeks apart. Tattoo removal is informed choice and your immune system within your body is responsible for purging the ink using Phagocytes in your white blood cells. Please note, no guarantees can be made when it comes to tattoo removal as your health, immune system and potential medications may slow the process down.

Some colours are easier to remove than others. Black and dark blue are the easiest to treat, while green, yellow, and fluorescent inks may require more sessions or special laser types. White ink cannot be removed.

Common potential side effects include redness, swelling, blistering, and temporary skin lightening or darkening. These usually subside within a few days to weeks. Pin prick bleeding or blistering should simply be left to air dry and heal naturally.

Avoid sun exposure and tanning for at least 2 weeks before your appointment. Do not apply any lotions or creams on the area on the day of treatment.

Old tattoos usually respond better. New tattoos should be at least 4-6 months old to allow proper healing before removal.

Yes, when performed by trained professionals with approved cosmetic lasers, the procedure is generally safe and effective. Avoid laser companies who do NOT offer a patch test, who are NOT transparent with the laser settings they are using on your skin and who promise removal within 2 or 3 sessions (this is a sign they are turning the laser energy or fluence up too high and will cause burning, scarring or oxidisation of your tattoo.
